- Make a cedar box for collection, with gaps at the bottom for oxygen and so that your rice can touch the forest floor.
- Fill it 1/3 full with hard-cooked white rice(so you have less moisture).
- cover it with paper towel
- then place it on the forest floor…. or bring leaf mold forest soil into a shed or greenhouse and place your box on it
- wait 2-5 days for the mycelium to culture the rice.
- after a completed collection mix it with equal weight brown sugar to put the microbes into dormancy and store it with a breathable lid !
