I am glad to see others experience correlating to ours. I have come to suspect that the new short disks may be more destructive than the older style gang disks. That has been our observation in our context.

We have been working out a system that involves multiple passes with an Aerway or Gen-til style aerator. Something like three or four passes over two to four weeks.

Followed by a disk pass and/or a light cultivator pass, as shallow as possible while throughly ‘un-rooting’ the perennials.

We currently are using a single gang Aerway but are on the lookout for a double opposing gang to cut down our number of passes. Aerway made a double gang model that is not opposed, I would like to hear from someone with experience with one. Gen-til supposedly has a double gang opposed style called a curse-buster but they seem to be hard to find.

This is a critical problem that needs to be solved in the regen Ag space in my opinion.
