Hey Kristin good question! Do you have an irrigation water report and soil report you could share? I’d assume your sandy soil is low in magnesium and potassium already, which is made worse by the high calcium input when you irrigate. In California where I am the water pH would be quite alkaline and the soil would follow suit.
