I’ve only grown roses around my patio but once i planted garlic around them (about one foot away) they did very much better. Greener leaves and more fragrant blooms. It was very surprising the difference. I can only figure it might help in the soil to supres pest and disease as well.

The extreme freeze last winter took the roses but the garlic where the roses had been did very much better than the garlic in the garden by itself.
