Hey Neils, I haven’t seen much of you since twitter 🙂 I’m glad you are here. I need to get more consistent with my participation on this platform. I think this place is great!
On the liquid we have been using mostly worm extract. We use 1000l totes cut in half, we take nearly finished windrow compost and and put about 50cm of material in the tote. Then we block the tote to put a slight angle towards the drain. Then we added worms to that. We feed the worms with everything from kitchen scraps, coffee grounds to grain screenings and spelt hulls, then we just keep it moist enough that we get approximately 3-5 liters per day per tote. We keep the liquid in an airtight barrel as we have looked and there really isn’t much biology in the liquid. When Christine Jones visited our farm a few years ago we had just started experimenting with this and she said that it will make a good biostimmulant as there are lots of plant signaling compounds in that liquid. We have really just ran with that since. We have compared root development of seedlings with this products vs quite a few commercially available products and we are satisfied with the results. That being said I’ve never tried any of AEA’s products but would like to this upcoming season.
