    Thanks for that response, Jerel. That’s really useful info. I have low CEC soils- I am hoping for good water infiltration and gas exchange as the primary goal of the calcium application. I have the theory that loosening up our tight soil will allow microbial populations (which were very low according to our Haney test) to invigorate and release the calcium that is native in the soil profile. That’s my theory anyway. Sending in innoculants and biostimulants after some keyline tillage and the calcium application, as well as seeding diverse fall forage crops.

    I would have some question marks in your situation around boron levels, possibly potassium as well as far as not seeing a bump in plant uptake of calcium after application.

    If you’d be willing to tell me what you’re paying for the GSR, that would be helpful. They are coming back with a quote for me next week, but I’m impatient, haha. Thanks for the helpful response!
