No there wasn’t anything that lead me to it other than wanting something that is better than those cheap ones you stick in the ground. I didn’t know much about the various options at the time. I was trying to stick around $100 and that’s what I ended up with. It works good though it is slower than I thought it would be but I’m use to it that now. By slow, I mean, when you first put the probe in the solution it may read high 7ph but the sample could be in the low 6 range and it takes awhile for the number to get there and stabilize. Can take a few minutes to as much as 15-20 minutes. If all the samples you’re testing are relatively close in pH the test can be accomplished pretty quick but if you switch to a sample that is 1 point or more away it could take a few minutes to get there. My mangoes are just starting to push bloom. Lychee and avocado and peaches as well. Early because it has been so warm. Hopefully no freezes for me. We will see.
