Hi Daniele, I haven’t dealt with this issue personally but I have read that hydrophobic soil can be caused by different issues: volatile organic compounds from some plants, damage from fire, or waxy coatings from some bacterial species when they dry up. Other bacterial species can break down the waxy coatings and the best way to kickstart that process is by adding good quality vermicast. Curious if others have tried this or other methods for dealing with hydrophobicity.
