Hello. New here.
I am not currently growing anything but the course helped me interpret previous experiences. One time I stoped the growth of leafspot and weevils in climbing beans by foliar spraying a fermented foliar fertilizer. I thod I had improoved photosynthesis enough and expected the virtuous cycle: better photosynthesis-> better exudates->better microbiology-> better mineral uptake/plant health-> better photosynthesis. However, next week both pests started to grow again. Although brix did improoved, 5 to 7 if I racall, It wasn´t enough for stoping both pests I think. Fermented foliars can be very reduced, so my current interpretation is that I took the plant to a very reduced state that stoped (but not killed) the pests, but that it was a temporary effect. It was a very small plot so sap analysis was not a posibility. Maybe in the future I could measure sap reduction potential to anticipate pests, correct oxidation from insecticides (after they do their job) and judge general plant health together with brix? I do understand soil reduction potential is very variable, but plants should buffer some of it and be more stable right?
