Hi everyone,
Anyone ever dealt with shelf life of micro-greens and the connection between shelf life and heath and nutrition?
It is a big problem.
Literature relates mostly to calcium.
Any other thoughts?
Best,

respiration, ammonification, nitrification, denitrification, DNRA!
I was hoping someone would want to talk about this topic…I guess I’ll just talk to myself, LOL
Update….
I just found out that: Yes, what John Kempf and Olivier Husson said about Nitrate (NO3) being converted back to Ammonium (NH4) under saturated conditions is true-ish. Rather, it does happen, but it’s usually not the dominant pathway…

Sap pH and Insect/Fungal Susceptibility
In my own observations, I can not confirm the thesis with the high pH and insect susceptibility and low pH – fungus susceptibility. Each plant has its own pH spectrum, for example, the ideal pH vine is 3.2 -3.7. According to the explanations of James White about the redox potential, the pH alone is not the whole truth. In addition,…

Long-term correction of magnesium deficiency in calcium rich soils.
In soils with more than 80% calcium saturation, I often find magnesium deficiency in the leaf sap analysis. Soil samples also confirm the deficiency and recommend fertilizing large amounts of magnesium sulfates. After 4 years of 200 kg / ha of magnesium sulfur, the values in the leaf sap have increased only slightly. The soil testing…

Am looking to do a low dose soil application of granular gyspum here in the UK
We’re very wet right now. So would like to see if 200-300kg of calcium sulphate product is likely to assist with standing water issues, in lieu of doing bulk applications (2.5t/ha) this autumn
Any thoughts gratefully received1 Comment-
I haven’t tried it personally but have heard of people having good results from low rates (up to ~200 lb/ac) by applying it in-furrow with the seed. Bulk spreading a rate that low is unlikely to result in a noticeable change.
