nutrient imbalance that slugs and snails are attracted to?
I do think that you can stop slug feeding with good nutrition, but I’m not sure about stopping them from being on and around your crop. During the summer I often find slugs below the heads because it’s cool and damp, even earthworms sitting in the bottom leaves of a butterhead.

Are you washing the lettuce heads before packing them? If that’s the case then I just wouldn’t worry about it.

Yeah sorry I suppose emulsion was the wrong terminology, we buy a rebranded hydrolysate I think it’s organic gem

after a bit of research, quite a few folks said fish hydrolysate is better than emulsion. I was recommended this brand, and they have free shipping in the US. Price is good. OMRI

Oh, I like that idea! A year ago, I remember someone saying you have to make sure you get fish emulsion with all the oils, because some manufacturers take most of the oil out for fish oil. I’ve never used the product, so didn’t give it much thought. Now when you say it, I realize why it’s called an “emulsion” lol.
