Which micronutrients are safer to err on excess vs err on deficiency
I imagine that’s good advice if you’re buying your nutrient solutions.
At this point we make all our own nutrient solutions (foliar or not), so I don’t need to test them, I know exactly what is in them.
My main problem is what is the optimal amount and if it’s safer to over-apply or under-apply.

Which micronutrients are safer to err on excess vs err on deficiency
Just a question, as I have never used foliar sprays, but recently took a fertilizer course from a local independent lab and they said to test everything. The reason is that even though the label says 3% the ppm are usually not 30,000. So, I am wondering if any of you test either your beginning or ending solutions?

I am interested in each micronutrient, however to add more to the boron conversation:
The attached paper states they trialed boron foliar sprays with boric acid of 0%, 0.0625%, 0.125% and 0.1875% of total solution, and the .0625% application worked best. Boric acid is 18% boron. So .0625% x 18% = 112.5ppm. Begs the question, if they tested…

Which micronutrients are safer to err on excess vs err on deficiency
Thanks @JohnWarmerdam! We’ve done a lot of trials this way. I definitely appreciate you mentioning it, because the trials always require more patience than I want to give, and I too often convince myself to skip the trials.
Still begs the question: when you run trials, for each micronutrient, do you err on deficiency or excess? Typically I…

Hello, I am excited to be a part of this group! I have the opportunity to start consulting with a few growers in Utah on Tart Cherries. I plan to do the SAP analysis and utilize the results for in season foliars. I am curious though on what the average consulting fees would be to work with these growers? They are asking what it will cost…
