I believe John Kempf recommends that threshold for repeated applications, but that a one-time application at a higher rate would be OK. In my experience the susceptibility of the crop is actually important, I’ve seen burn on some fruit varieties and none on a neighboring block with the same spray. Heat, irrigation status, time of day,…

You can use any form but you will risk having it precipitate. Ammonium Thiosulfate is always in a liquid form, which is a good thing. You can dissolve ammonium sulfate but it will likely fall out of solution and then you will have a mess. Stick with the ATS liquid and you won’t be disappointed.
I wanted to add zinc to our mix so I tried…

Benny, in this webinar, John talks about using ammonium thiosulfate with the nitrogen in a 10:1 ratio, I was curious if I could use ammonium sulfate (we are setup for dry fertilizer application) and achieve the same results. Or does it have to be ammonium thiosulfate?(local supplier has ATS in liquid form only).

Gaps in the literature! What topic(s) would you like to see explored more?
Long-term impact of repeated inoculation of soil with lab-produced bacteria and/or fungi
vs. long-term impact of repeated inoculation of soil with on-site-produced native inoculants
vs. long-term impact of no inoculation
I suppose you wouldn’t have time to run the experiments, but I bet a thorough survey of existing farms could render enough data…
