You might also consider Christine Jones from webinars with Green Cover Seed‘s on cover crops. She certainly has experience and perspective on cover crops in arid environments. -

Thanks John. That is actually an interesting point you bring up. Cover crops are not very popular around here since we miss growing time and are in a low rainfall area. So it would be interesting to test them from nutrient release and water competition standpoint. It would also be interesting which alternatives we actually have to cover crops.…

That depends entirely on the media the plant is filled with. Soilless media often contains excessive potassium that can cause problems.
