Redox course : Finding fusarium w/ potato beetle antenna
Reading the more detailed document (the second one listed), and not being an expert, it seems to say not that the beetle senses an electrical difference or that there is an electrical component to the detection of fusarium, but that the olfactory sensing of specific chemical molecules (indicative of fusarium) causes an electrical potential…

Redox course : Finding fusarium w/ potato beetle antenna
In Lesson 5, around the 33min mark, a study was mentioned where researchers used the antenna from a potato beetle, to detect fusarium in one potato in a batch of 100 kilo of potatoes.
I found this study, but the tidbit is that it was “based on” the antenna, not using one somehow connected to a device.“<b…

Ok, so the information is interesting, but unless one can measure, pretty much real time, especially something which potentially changes fairly rapidly, what practical use is it? It’s as if a new driver is warned not to let the automobile run out fuel, but there is no fuel gauge, or other way to keep track, other than when the engine dies,…

quick response – I believe that, somewhere in the course, redox is described as being very difficult to measure.

I’m going through the Redox course now, just now becoming aware of and trying to understand it. I did a search here and in other places and the one thing I still haven’t seen, maybe it will be later in this course is.
Exactly how does one measure Redox? especially repeatedly say in a day? Surely this doesn’t require a full lab, as without one… - Load More
