I have been using sheep for weed control in cotton fields for a few years now. They do really like eating the bindweed! The sheep are doing a great job cleaning the fields especially on the second and third year.

I was told years ago put sheep on a field of bindweed. They will kill it.I heve never tryed it.

I have cotton patch geese, which were historically used to weed row crops like cotton. I breed the animals that tend toward grazing, and remove the ones that exhibit browsing behavior so they don’t damage the lower branches of my dwarf and semi-dwarf trees. But melons? Oh no.
