On our cherry crops we see the same things when we take samples too early. They can be slightly helpful, if you have info from previous years, but because they are so out of the norm to mid-season samples it likely isn’t worth the effort. I recently got the results for a leaf sap analysis for grape vine, that I took before flowering (only took middle leaves, since shoots to short to be able to take new/old leaves). Maybe 5-7 leaves per shoot. The results showed big deficiencies on many nutrients. Although, I suspect that early in the season, numbers can not really…
