winegrape YAN values and SAP N-Total Nitrogen
Ciao a tutti, I find this discussion key to the struggles in vineyards. Although I have not found a source for affordable sap analysis yet I am optimistic that this is the way forward for right nutrient balance in the vines and during the fermentation processes. I know we are “only” making an alcoholic beverage which is not key to nutrition of…

winegrape YAN values and SAP N-Total Nitrogen
Ciao Sascha,
I am planing to set up a experimantal plot with Sap analysis the upcomimg season so I could try if we can improve total nitrogen in musts.
As we also manufacture natural wines I made the same observations as you did. In the last dry years we also had problems with volatile acidity and slowed down, even stopping fermentation due to… -

Jonathan Ronsani replied to the discussion Companion Crops for Potato in the forum Weed Management a year ago
From what I have been learning, one would need at least 4 companion plants filling different roles in the soil to be most effective. The deep taproot of chicory would be a great one! I am going to try some different companion mixes in next year’s potato crop.
@David, do you have some ideas which living mulches would benefit which crops?
