I had an observation that I would like to hear some thoughts. There is no giant ragweed in my alfalfa, except along the edge of the corn field. Clarification on soil tests.
I understand Haney tests are the best but also must be performed soon after the sample is taken (?). I’m not sure where the labs are that do this but getting samples sent quickly to say the east coast would be quite expensive.
Perfect is the enemy of good here because I need a basic test but haven’t because its not…

Hi I’m trying to setup a chipper for mulch and compost.
Ive been told I need a tub grinder but that some people use mid size chippers for this (not the large 2-3 in chunk sized chippers).
So, I have on my property:
Bobcat 743 with ~15gpm aux
Dozer with Detroit 471, no PTO or output shaft 🙁
2x Cummins trucks no PTO

It is probably useful to go back to that second stage in the plant health pyramid course – Complete Protein Synthesis – talking about ammonia in heat situations and why carbohydrates are needed.
