how have you used the redox potential course knowledge?
To echo Gio, it got me thinking about not only the impact of irrigation but of water quality in relation to soil characteristics. We started changing irrigation schedules and I saw some improvements not only in photosynthesis (there was some chlorosis that was resistant to micronutrient/trace element treatments), but also pest resistance in…

how have you used the redox potential course knowledge?
He only shallow tills one time per season in the spring since in semi-arid regions, we get all the rain in the winter. So it’s not that harmful of a practice in my opinion. He also sprays copper and sulphate separately as a prevention for airborne diseases. Together with this tillage pass, he is producing some nice results. It may work or…

I have been influenced by my fermentation experiments to maintain a continuous compost tea brew.
Once I see the foam on the surface lessen, I will put back molasses, kelp extract, and humic/fulvic in equal amounts (less than 1:2000 of water loss equivalent) + the whey from my Greek yogurt, which is full of lactobacillus.
After adding, I…

Intriguing. How do you apply the root drench and what is in your foliar mix? As far as a microscope goes I can highly recommend the LW Scientific i4 with the BioVid camera. Not sure if it meets your affordable requirement.

The Omax M837 series of microscopes is good enough to take photos clear enough to see most bacteria at 400X. Just don’t go for more than a 5 or 8 MP camera as you won’t gain much quality with more pixels. I think it’s a common mistake to overspend on the camera, which is what I did for an 18 MP. Basically the way I understand it is that… Read more

how have you used the redox potential course knowledge?
Thankyou for the response! i agree that it is a great tool to help mitigate known issues. it seems like this friend of yours is benefiting greatly by following a non-dogmatic approach also.
i wonder if there is anything to combine with the tillage that would help mitigate any negatives of the practice. compost + calcium would be my first thoughts.

how have you used the redox potential course knowledge?
I think the basic application of the course is in how you look at disease development and control methods. My friend is an organic wine producer and powdery mildew is a serious issue to handle. Looking at the redox chart and keeping in my mind that this organism is an oomycete (prefers a reduced environment), he tried to introduce oxygen into…
