I’ve completed amending half of my 5000 sqft plot. Unfortunately my day job keeps me too busy to do it during the week so this is a slow process. I did take this coming Thursday off to do another quarter and the on Sunday I’ll do the last quarter. After that I have drip irrigation system to install including a pump that will draw water from my half acre pond for irrigation. The pond water tested really good while my well water is very high in bicarbonates (220ppm). My pond water was less than 20ppm bicarbonate. No other issues either.

In my 1000sqft plot the soil pH for most of it very high, about 8.0. I was going to till some sulphur in but I was watching some videos where Nicole Masters has mentioned that good biology can change the pH around the roots by up to 2 points. I’m pondering testing this out since the plot is small. It will be a few weeks before I can do anything with it so I’ll look into this some more before making a decision. If anyone has anything useful on this point I’d like to hear. I don’t want to be stuck in a permanent situation of foliar spraying to overcome high pH.

    Thanks
