My understanding of foliar applying protein hydrolysates (amino acids/peptides) is more of a biostimulant boost to enhance photosynthesis for a limited amount of time, which, as I comprehend, would result in more exudates being released into the soil. That is my goal with foliar applied protein hydrolysates and even soil applied ones, generally. It would be both crazy expensive and practically impossible to supply enough N in protein hydrolysates via foliar to over-ride the demand by the plant for soil-drawn N sources, as far as I understand.
I desire deeper and better understanding, so please feel free to educate me. ????
