Sounds like your soil is like mine. I have found a great benifit to raisnig the Ca levels in our soils. It is a bummer to need to apply almost every year. I like your thoughts on trying humates. I wonder if bio char would help. I think in a pasture setting for me it comes down to how can I best improve the Ca levels for the least amount of money. We started getting recycled drywall from the recycle center. It is cheap and hard to spread. I am wondering if I need to use more deep rooted species to try to pull Ca from the transition zone.
