I recently found the ‘end of agriculture’ podcast by Sarah Mock and Connie Bowen. This reminds me of their episode about commodity crops, definitely worth a listen. I knew that a lot of corn is for ethanol production, but I didn’t realize that gasoline mixers are required by regulation to blend in a certain amount of ethanol (of course it’s more complex than that). The regulation expires in 2022, unknown if it’ll be reinstated.
