I love this idea. I know of several farmers who have collected one off samples of different weed species with some very intriguing results. For example, tansy in wheat in Kansas contained 10x the calcium content of the wheat.
I believe there is a lot of value we can lear from this. I would add, though, that weed species presence/dominance is not determined purely from nutritional profiles, but also microbial, and physical soil structure.
It would be a much bigger project, but might also be worth considering adding a BiomeMakers soil analysis in the future.
