Yeah good point – then I think about Harriet’s dark septate endophyte relocation. That’s an interesting direction because there’s no propagation happening outside of the soil/root context, like you said. I could see a system where wild plants are brought into a nursery area and used to inoculate other plants, multiply the biology, and then inoculate the growing areas with transplants.
Maybe it’s beneficial to culture both the rhizobiont microbes and the saprotophs?
