I’ve been trying that as a way to get my greenhouse starts to have root hairs/sheaths. I grab some grasses from a cover crop with rhizosheaths and shake them in water, then water the starts. Yeah I’ve got the same concern – do the exudates of a millet have anything to do with the exudate of a lettuce? I just started trying it no info yet.
