The brix of the tomato is around 12. I have never seen anything like it as you an hardly see a line only a shift in color. No wonder it shows no sign of phytophtora!
I have stuck the tomato “cutting” in the Johnson Su in the middle of July in full summer heat as I accidentally broke it of the mother plant and it was an ridiculously expensive japanese heirloom, which I bought for the tetra-cis-lycopene study and I did not want to waste. I did not put any cover on top. The leaves wilted and I was pretty sure it would not make it in the scorching heat (so I did not even take a picture). After some days the stem was upright and the top leaf was turgid and since then it has been “running” to make up for the delay. It is currently working on a lovely truss of tomatoes.
There is so much that needs to be explored.
