thanks Tom for your insights, I must specify that I am not dogmatic about no dig, I forgot to say that what I would really like to do would be to till, inoculants and sow a cover crop to be stimulated with foliar feeding and then finish it with a roller crimper but unfortunately i won’t have much time this fall, the water system is not ready yet, i don’t have a BCS and i will go on site no more than one week a month until january / february. so we chose a simpler solution, but from next autumn we intend to use cover crops a lot. We will grow about thirty vegetables in addition to grapes, apples, pears and kiwis, the space for the market garden will be about 1/4 acre so using tarps is not a problem even if I have not yet figured out what kind of damage they can cause to life in the soil..I think they are not too bad since I am already using them with good results but they give me a bad feeling … It is not easy to move a family and a farm 500 km away but I am confident and if I have any doubts I will ask on kindharvest????
