I actually just realised that I am doing broccoli sprouts and they have abundant root hairs with just water (tap water with chlorine at that). Seems funny to see such roots in this type of environment.

I was actually working with a farmer recently that uses rhubarb in his biofertilisers in order to release as much as oxalic acid as possible to enhance plant nutrient uptake. We have oxalis in our context which would do the trick.
