I am a market gardener too and I would really advise doing some proper soil analysis. Compost is fairly unbalanced and I would think you will have better results adding in a little supplimentary nitrogen and running the numbers on the compost.

Market gardens are intensive production spaces and they require intensive management to be profitable. The soil food web theory is great but it may break your heart trying to get it all working while turning a profit and dealing with the thousand other jobs in a market farm.
