    You have come up with multiple options, and any one of them could have come into play. There is always the potential for temperature issues at floral initiation. We could easily hit 40 degrees C. We were also dealing with chloride issues at the time.

    I don’t know how the other growers went with pollinator cross over. They are all growing Californian bred varieties. I know they said they thought there was enough to do the job.

    We are based around locally, Australian bred material. We actually use four different pollinating varieties to get the main variety. It is possibly the worst crossover we have had, with two missing completely. Neither of the the others timed it exactly either, one a few days ahead, and the other a few days behind.

    We probably hit 26C during flowering as well. The other growers won’t have as they flower earlier than us.

    Unfortunately all of these potential issues are out of our control. I was hoping for something such as a nutritional issue that we could do something about.
