We tried to imitate the system in the videos but without the rototiller, but we never got the surface composting. It either just dried out or stayed green. Don’t know if it is the rototiller, if our soils are not alive enough or if its climate.

Roller crimper seems to work fine about a 1000km or more south of us and for late seeded crops like corn or soy beans. We would have to wait until at least beginning of June to have rye in the right stage to crimp 🙁
