Many seeds are happy to form associations with soil organisms! Purchased or not, the problem is that many seeds sold are simply ancient (esp. for gardeners) and I see a clear correlation between old seeds and a difficulty to form asscociation. If you assist them with a bit of mucilage in the irrigation it usually kicks in.
It seems to be a tendency of breeding that the need for fungal association is given up in favor for bacterial association. So I have no data, if these plants will enter fungal associations as readily as heirlooms. I would suspect that they will not, given enough “octane” in soil solution.
