Hi Corey. I looked at your soil report. Have you looked at Boron levels? Dan Ketteridge makes the joke that one needs to start adding boron now, because it is only safe to add a little bit every year. Then there is hope that the levels will at least be good for your grandchildren! He suggests max. 1-2 lb/acre/year actual boron.
If plants grow well then everything is in balance but mostly we want things to grow better. The goal is healthy plants and not a perfect score on a soil test. I’m not criticising Corey. I caused a number of problems last year by trying to get my sulphur level up too quickly. I am impatient to improve things. My goal this year is to get on top of slugs, improve the nitrogen fixing ability of my legumes, and, and, and… in short correct all the short falls of last seaon. New season new luck! That’s the exciting thing about growing, we always get another chance!
