I have been doing a small trial with some calves we have been hand feeding in our barn, although this was with raw humates. I can tell you that doing this can cause problems quickly, as I saw increased incidences of coccidiosis within 2 days because I was putting too much in (3 lbs per 40 lbs). I have cut back (1.5 lbs per 40 lbs) and have seen the coccidiosis signs disappear.

What I have noticed is this. The manure has the same consistency as previous as the food has not changed however the color is much darker, almost black. I was hoping to see if there were any changes to the odor in the manure pack in the barn but nothing as of yet.
