Hi Jaclyn, with a pH as low as yours I would still add lime and dolomitic lime is probably your cheapest option. You could ask around locally and see if there are other options, but be careful as some products will not raise your pH. It’s the carbonate in dolomitic lime that ties up hydrogen ions to raise pH, not the calcium. For this reason adding gypsum will also not raise your pH. Gypsum is a good amendment if you need calcium and sulfur but the sulfate ion will not bind with hydrogen. Do you have a soil test that you could share?
