Hi Andrew, that approach sounds good. Getting the cattle manure to lower OM areas is a good idea. I would also look at P and target manure to lower P fields (<25 Bray or Mehlich-3) for manure as well. What are your pH levels? Base saturations? Adding small amounts of lime can be a good approach if you need calcium. The approach that I would do differently from what you mentioned is K management. Check out Richard Mulvaney’s work on the potassium paradox. Potash is not particularly good for soil structure and often isn’t needed.
