Hi Jill,
Yes, I know phylloxera is the major concern for vines, but I wondering with proper ecosystem management, would phylloxera be an issue if you have proper nutritional balance, high brix, and diverse aerobic microbiome? I know Mimi Casteel has noticed phylloxera on some of her vines but because of her management it hasn’t been as issue. I am curious to the potential benefits of own-rooted vines (officially). For me it just seems initiative that a plant on its own legs would walk better than a plant transplanted before we knew if it could walk or not? I don’t know the answer clearly but am very curious about this topic and welcome any reading anyone has either way.
Thanks, Jaclyn
