Does it still have a strong cedar scent? I have been told that strong scented trees including cedars have natural antimicrobial preservatives that are what you smell and which cause problems in compost if there’s too much. So wood chips from strong scented trees need to age before composting to allow the various preservatives to release or be broken down by the limited number of microbes that can tolerate them.
