Thanks. I appreciate now from your comments that the mixed covers in year one can nicely segue in year two into some perennial covers. I see that some where biennials. I have a strong interest in using Sorghum Sudan grass (in the mix) but the catch is how to prevent it from going to seed before winter kill in central Minnesota (US). Mowing at higher level maybe (.75-1 m)? I am planing for relatively small acreage so a labor intensive approach is not undoable. The sudan grass has a large seed and large seeds (in terms of potentially reseeding) are perhaps not so much of a problem compared to a small seeded grasses. Is that a safe assumption?
