I’m seconding everything Dennis has said. I’m leasing from my father-in-law—married his daughter in October of ‘22, so not too long. I’m only running cows so far, but I’d like to be farming the place as well. Thankfully he wasn’t too involved with his ground to begin with, so I get a little looser rein. He also never farmed it, so getting off the petrochemical addiction wasn’t too bad.
I recommend sticking with it! Like Dennis said, as long as the grass is green and you’re making payments, they should be fine. I try to plant seeds in his brain and then leave them alone for a while. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
