I don’t know of anyone else doing this on scale. I tried it for fun (my kind of fun I guess) and it was interesting to see all the things that developed in the compost bin. I have applied it to our fields, but inoculation and results are very hard to quantify. I do see lots of mushrooms peeking out in the fields, but it isn’t an everywhere thing.
I do have a good microscope and have been looking into what we have out there. It is hard to quantify on a slide, but some folks do have good videos online in how to tell what is what and at what quantity. Seeing a nematode is a lot different than just hearing about them, and I’ve seen many more weird things in my microscope travels. I’d suggest it is a very cheap investment if you are so inclined.
Application is the hardest part as it is a concentrated compost (most application rates are suggested in a few pounds per acre) so I came up with a good way of separation it and applying the soluble part of the solution to the field. I think it is way better than the style Dr Johnson came up with.
