Hi Andrew. That’s an interesting thought about potassium. I think it can be “antagonistic” towards excess manganese if I remember right, or at least help balance it out. When I lived in Washington State several years ago, I worked with an Albion grower up near Blaine south of Vancouver B.C. Canada. He found higher K gave better quality Albion as long as Ca was maintained properly, We never had the seediness issues that other growers reported. May be something worth exploring.

BTW, my wife was born in Victoria AU. Can’t remember the town right now. I’ve never been but I hope one day we can go back there to see her hometown.
