My experience here is extremely limited but a few anecdotal stories that irrigation doesn’t provide the same growth result as less water in a natural rain event. Minerals gathered in the atmosphere by rain drops? Plants and microbes responding to barometric pressure?

A mate of mine has a spring fed dam he has told me the spring lets go and the dam fills hours before a rainfall event. I wonder if this happens in the general soil profile?
