This is absolutely fascinating! My anecdotal experience is that the market garden we use as a lab for our soil amendments seems to enjoy rain over well water. I had chalked it up to the well water being rich in minerals, and possibly nitrogen from lightning causing sudden vigour but perhaps more is going on here?
