I am intrigued by the possibilities. Before we used sap analysis, we used to run a lot of saturated paste analysis, and we would use the irrigation water as an extraction agent. Some irrigation water was more effective than deionized water at releasing nutrients, and other irrigation water suppressed nutrient release when compared with deionized water.
