Hi Adrian, when you say you are applying magnesium sulfur, are you referring to Epsom salt? Can you apply as a foliar rather than a soil application? Epsom salt is about 10% Mg so if that’s what you are using you’d be adding 20 kg/ha/yr Mg, which will never be enough to significantly raise Mg base saturation on a soil test. What are your soil…

Hi all,
We’re running about 1,500ha in a 450mm rainfall zone in north central Victoria in southern Australia, about 40% double cropped. Growing wheat, faba beans, canola, azuki beans and buckwheat. Aiming to plant around 250ha of Buckwheat in February 2024. We have grown it in cover crops a few times successfully.

Which micronutrients are safer to err on excess vs err on deficiency
I ask the question because my equipment puts out 100gal per acre when I’m doing everything correctly – tractor speed dependent. So 1 quart per acre into 100gal of water is a significantly different ppm than 1 quart per acre into 5gal of water. However the grams delivered is the same.
