Oat Cover Crop - Which Variety for Reducing Properties?
Just started to explore the dsv-seeds website. they have a breakout and description of each, with its attributes; for every component of their cover crop mixes. multiple oat species and many other unusual covers, 10% of which I’ve not even heard of with 50 years of organic horticulture experience.

Some cover crop mixes use a black oat. Maybe a more effective reducer. You Can research/ ask more questions to Kings AgriSeeds, the US supplier of TerraLife cover crop mixes, developed by <www.dsv-seeds.com> (a German firm) which were based on cover crop trials at Max Plank Institute.

We use the compost tea as hydroponic nutrient solution. our farm is about 70% hydroponic and 30% soil. We only give the compost tea to the soil a few times/year. We use a different formula for the soil, and I’m not going to share the formula because it’s not working well….in short I’m sure weekly application of properly formulated compost…

Barley and oats under vine for winter cover cropping, 1 year apart (November 2021, November 2022). The difference in soil organic matter and understory development in only 1 year of trials is astounding!
