Cover Crops Seeds - Organic or Conventional?
Seed quality is always important, and plays a big role in speed of germination and plant vigor. I would recommend sourcing seed that has been grown with good nutrition if at all possible.

Oat Cover Crop - Which Variety for Reducing Properties?
While I can’t say for certain, it is my understanding that the disease resistance breeding which produced the reducing effect in the microbiome occurred in the 1960’s, and because of severe disease pressure, quickly became practically all of the plant oat varieties.
I would guess if it is still around, it likely has a suppressive biome, but…

Grafted vs Own-rooted Vinifera
From observation on a lot of grafted crops, it doesn’t seem that grafting is inherently a negative. It can be negative when there is incompatibility, but it can also be very positive. I used to have the opinion that grafting is something to be avoided, but have changed my view.

Grafted vs Own-rooted Vinifera
There is a lot of food for thought on this subject in Francis Chaboussou’s book La Santé des Plantes, chapter 7. I believe the book was translated into English.
What I understand, simply put, is that the grafted vines have mediocre protein synthesis. If that is so, then perhaps sap analysis and nutritional corrections can help?

I just want to say how excited I am to be a part of this platform. Other social media platforms can be exhausting and redundant to sift through. I’m glad to be in the midst of the sharpest minds in regenerative agriculture.
